Lecture and workshop instructor on Biomimicry, Ecological Thinking and Plastics for the Art/ Sci Nanolab, a 2 week intensive for junior and senior high school students. The 2018 workshop is titled Ecological Mind: Rock, Paper, Planktons, Scissors, Plastics. The Nanolab, formed by artist Victoria Vesna and scientist James K. Gimzewski of UCLA, “…was designed around the principle that nano-science requires fresh ways of thinking and new methodologies….the future of nanotechnology is determined not just by scientific knowledge, but also by application of creative thought and imagination that go beyond a traditional reductionist approach”. This innovative program encourages youth to think inter-disciplinarily between art and science, avoiding the traditional separation of these fields, and is team taught by artists, scientists, and guest speakers with tours of high tech labs.
Fellowship: MIT Fellowship, awarded with Dr. Markus Buehler, professor and Head of the MIT Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. Dr. Buehler is internationally renowned for his work in the nanomechanics of spider silk.

" To join 15 personalities in an inspiring world wilderness, to face the urgency of a Society without mined source of energy. Invited are a spectrum of talents with significant responsibilities in Industry, Politics, Academy, Finance, Education, and Justice from an international community." MacArthur has been asked to distill 'the process' adopted by the participants in their exchanges, so as to turn it into a globally relevant learning module for educational purposes and for a target audience at middle school / high school level combining art and eco-literacy.

Artists employ unique approaches to reveal light as phenomena of both science and art. This exhibition features a selection artists who explore their fascination with the premise of light as a medium. Numerous of the works will be of an installation nature, while many will incorporate holographic means, laser, solar and other manipulations of light to arrive at inventive, thought provoking and alternative interpretations.

Lecture: ISEA 2012: Machine Wilderness

At the 18th International Society of Electronic Arts, ISEA, presented a site specific work proposed for the Albuquerque Open Space Center, "Mallart Solaire; A community of photo-active independent pods" The requirements for submitting work to the site were to utilize a method of alternative energy in such a way as to cause no harm to the site. The work utilized photo-voltaic cells , was to be sited in a wetlands, and discussed both the scientific principles and inspiration from elements unique to the specific environment.

PAiR, Pilchuck Artist In Residence, offers experienced professional artists independent use of Pilchuck’s facilities for a 2-3 week session. Artists are awarded through nominations by other professional artists and the Pilchuck staff selects a limited number of professional artists to work on experimental, exploratory and challenging projects. Artists who may work outside the glass arena are invited to this A.I.R. to apply themselves to the medium in a unique way with assistance from Pilchuck staff, and to offer new approaches and inspiration to the students as well as instructors at the school, Stanwood, Washington, USA.
